I am working as a Gestalt trainer, therapist, coach, supervisor and consultant for more than 35 years. I was a staff member of the former MultidiMens Gestalt Institute in Belgium, and was involved as a staff member to help building up gestalt institutes, like the Bulgarian Gestalt Institute in Sofia, Bulgaria, the Caucasian Institute for Gestalt therapy and Family therapy in Tbilisi, Georgia and also the Gestalt Institute Nepal in Kathmandu, Nepal and now the Gestalt institute in Yerevan, Armenia. Next to that I am a faculty member or guest trainer in many other Gestalt institutes in Europe. As a therapist and counsellor, I am seeing clients in my private practice, and have worked for about 25 years in a counselling centre for clients with cancer. As a coach/consultant, I have mainly worked in healthcare, and especially in the care of old people with dementia. Working in other countries and other cultures has always been my passion. It enriches me, and deepens my understanding of my own culture, assumptions and what I take for granted. I am a registered member of the EAGT as therapist, GPO and supervisor and as an European Certified Psychotherapist of the EAP.

Having fallen in love with Gestalt therapy at a young age I started my formal Gestalt therapy training

in 1991.

My professional career started with an internship at an substance misusers in patient clinic.

Subsequently I have been working in women’s counselling centers and since 1997 in private practice

as Gestalt therapist and supervisor.

In the course of my professional development, I have done different training in the area of trauma

specific therapy and treatments for individuals with eating disorders.

I have always come back to Gestalt therapy as this is in my experience everything I really rely on

when working with people with different needs and sufferings. I can learn many techniques but what

is important for me is the therapeutic relation and the process as a fundamental of Gestalt therapy.

In EAGT I have served in various functions, as Austrian delegate, as member of the Ethics Committee

and chairing the working group for “Professional Competences and Qualitative Standards” for Gestalt

therapists.

After my term as EAGT president together with colleagues I have founded the working group on

Climate Change & Biodiversity in EAGT, which has now become substantial part of EAGT and a very

well-functioning group supporting EAGT in different areas and raising awareness for the members

around the topic of climate change.

I am teaching Gestalt therapy in Nepal and Switzerland, have authored articles on Gestalt therapy

and co-edited the book “Women in Gestalt therapy” in 2016.

Relational Psychoanalysis, Post-Bionian Psychoanalysis, and Gestalt Therapy.” Edited By Gianni

Francesetti, Michela Gecele, Paolo Migone, 2025

At the beginning of the war against Ukraine I have for six months in 2022 been engaged in supporting
